Thomson High School’s Jonathan Atkins will play in the 2012 Under Armour All-America football game that airs tonight at 7:30 on ESPN.

The game, which will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., includes 90 of the most promising high school football players from across the country.

The teams are Team Blur, led by former NFL head coach Herm Edwards, and Team Highlight, led by Steve Mariucci, also a former NFL head coach. Practices have taken place all week at Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex.

Team Blur will wear white jerseys, while Team Highlight will don black jerseys.

Atkins, wearing No. 77, is listed as an offensive guard for Team Blur.

Several current college football stars are alumni of the Under Armour All-America game, including USC’s Matt Barkley, Auburn’s Michael Dyer, Oklahoma’s Landry Jones and Alabama’s Trent Richardson.

Atkins, a 305 pound nose tackle and ESPNU 150 four-star recruit, has already signed a letter of intent with the University of Georgia.
