At a Dec. 8 meeting, the McDuffie County Board of Education adopted a Special Purpose Sales Tax resolution.
In a Nov. 8 special election, county voters approved the continuation of the education tax and the issuance of $14 million of general obligation debt by the school district.
The resolution outlines the special election and authorizes the district attorney to validate the debt in the McDuffie County Superior Court.
In other business, the board will hold a called meeting at 1:30 p.m. on March 28, 2012. Board members will be debriefed on the school district SACS CASI accreditation review team site visit.
