THOMSON — A funeral service for the Rev. Roy M. Cowins, 61,Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Thomson, was held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Thomson, with the Rev. F.D. Favors, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Union Star Society Cemetery, Warrenton.

MR. HARRY LA MARR CULBERT
AUGUSTA — Mr. Harry La Marr Culbert, 89, husband of the late Frances Culbert, entered into rest Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at the residence.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Rev. Billy Culbert officiating.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen Pruitt of Augusta and Elaine Wondoloski of Lawrenceville, Ga.; sons, Barry Culbert of Thomson and Billy Culbert of Goose Creek, S.C.; grandchildren, Marlene Wilson, Stefanie Freund, Elizabeth Pruitt, Jeff Culbert, Thomas Culbert, Alison Culbert, Lindsey Culbert, Alex Culbert, Eric Wondoloski and Kim Wondoloski; great-grandchildren, Jayson Freund, McKenna Freund, Emma Freund, Evan Bryan Culbert, Olivia Culbert, Devon Wilson, Cameron Wondoloski and Faolon Ferrandino.
Mr. Culbert was born in Pottsville, Pa., to the late Henry and Mary Cresswell Culbert. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran, retired baker and member of Druid Park Bible Church.

THOMSON — A graveside service for Ms. Daisy Pearl Cummings, 76, of Thomson, was held on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Westview Cemetery, Thomson.
MRS. FRANKIE RUTH
GREENE DYER
HARTWELL, Ga. — Mrs. Frankie Ruth Greene Dyer went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012.
Frankie was 89 years old, born on Aug. 16, 1922, to Frank and Maggie Greene. She was a graduate of Thomson High School and the University of Georgia. She taught school for 35 years and loved every minute of her time with her children.
Frankie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Boyce Dyer, her parents, and her siblings: Elven Greene, Mark Greene, Sam Greene, Evelyn Edwards and Grace Green.
She is survived by her children, Vicki and Whitey Gibbs of Stockbridge, Bebe and Steve Fain of Dalton, Craig and Mary Dyer of Hartwell. Also by grandchildren, Danny and Lyn Gibbs, Christy Gibbs, Joy and Dade Dowdle, Josh Fain, Joseph and Leah Fain, Johnny Fain, Dustin and Laura Dyer, and Jodi and Matt Turner; great-grandchildren, Warrick and Tybee Trent, Cole and Jordan Gibbs, Jay Dowdle, Elwen Fain and Lucas Dyer. Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Louise Greene and Mrs. Myrtle Kendrick, and a brother, Charles Greene, all of Crawfordville, GA.,and many special nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Frankie Greene Dyer will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Crawfordville Baptist Church at 10 am.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
A private interment will follow the service.

MR. PRYCE “PETE” MCCORD
NORWOOD — Mr. Richard “Pete” Pryce McCord, 83, of Norwood, entered into rest Jan. 22, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Mary Frances Johnson McCord for 60 years.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Scruggs Cemetery, Norwood, with the Rev. David Jenkins officiating.
Mr. McCord was a lifelong resident of Warren County. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard, served on the Norwood City Council and was retired from Thomson Oak Flooring. Mr. McCord was also a member of Norwood United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances McCord; sons, David McCord and wife, Pam, of Norwood, and Terry McCord and wife, Kim, of Thomson; grandchildren, Dallas Yates and Katherine Yates and his dog, Jenny.

THOMSON — A funeral service for Mrs. Nellie Bell Moss Wilcher, 71, of Thomson, was held on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Stamp Branch Baptist Church, Warrenton, with pastor, the Rev. Robert Martin, eulogist. Interment was in the church cemetery.
MRS. JUDY REDD WRIGHT
SARDIS, Ga. – Mrs. Judy Redd Wright, 68, entered into rest on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Thomson, on Nov. 26, 1943. She was self-employed as a hairdresser. She loved animals and would adopt those that needed a home. She was a member of East Burke Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wright; a son, Bobby Dean Redd; brother, Ben Mooney; stepbrother, William Jr. Johnson; and two grandchildren, Chris Redd and Adam Redd.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce Redd and Troy Redd; stepchildren, Keith Redd and David Redd; and eight grandchildren, Jessica Brooke Redd, Little Bruce Redd, Jeffrey Redd, Amanda Redd, Cody Redd, Austin Redd, Ashley Redd and Elizabeth Redd.
The funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home. DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
