A Lincolnton man was injured in an automobile accident Sunday in Wilkes County.
According to a Georgia State Patrol report, Jesse Patrick Williford, 22, was driving north on Smith Mill Road when his 1985 4-Runner left the roadway in a curve, ran into a ditch, came back on the roadway, rotated and then overturned. Williford was ejected from the vehicle. He was airlifted to Georgia Health Sciences Health System for treatment.
A passenger, 19-year-old Hailey L. McQuigg, also from Lincolnton, was taken to Georgia Health Sciences Health System by ambulance.
Williford is charged with driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain lane, driving under the influence, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce) and a seat belt violation.
