Three men accused of entering an automobile and theft by taking were among more than 50 defendants who pleaded not guilty during arraignment proceedings in McDuffie County Superior Court last week.

Toombs Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Harold A. Hinesley presided over the cases.

Christopher Ciechan and Robert Donnell Hobbs pleaded not guilty to one count of entering an automobile and two counts of theft by taking, while Reginald Scott pleaded not guilty to one count of entering an automobile with intent to commit theft and one count of theft by taking.

The three were arrested in connection with two car thefts and one car break-in that occurred Dec. 18, 2010, in the parking lot outside Thomson High School during a basketball game.
