A fire on Cedar Rock Road near the Warren County line caused extensive damage to a mobile home the morning of Jan. 13.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, which occurred at 3973 Cedar Rock Road in a single-wide mobile home owned by Larry Fountain.
Personnel from both the Warren County Fire Department and the McDuffie County Fire Service responded at 6:51 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, heavy fire was showing from the center of the home, according to an incident report.
Fountain, who had already exited the building, told responders he was unsure how the fire had started.
According to the report, the fire was possibly caused by an alternative heating source, as a kerosene heater and fire wood were found in the living room near the area of origin.
Fire personnel extinguished the blaze and were on the scene for about two hours.
