Senior center sponsors talent show

Posted: January 25, 2012 - 4:14pm

The Thomson-McDuffie Senior Center will hold a Valentine’s Day Talent Show on Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Linda Lynch, the administrative clerk, said they are searching for individuals or groups of any age to come and showcase their talents.

“They don’t have to be members to participate,” she said. “We want people in the community to come and show us their talent.”

Lynch said they held a similar talent show two years ago with a pretty good turnout. She said it was held during summer break so there were many students in addition to adults who participated.

“We had a combination of talent and fashion,” she said.

Lynch said the talents at the last show included a piano player, several singers, a poetry recital, a guitar player and quite a few models.

Lynch said some of the seniors will participate in the show but some will just be there to watch.

“We had a ball last time,” she said. “I think it’s gonna be nice.”

Anyone wishing to participate should do so by Wednesday, Feb. 1. To register, go by the Senior Center at 304 Greenway St. in Thomson. For more information, call (706) 595-7502.
