Pupils of Cornerstone Preschool at First Baptist Church learned about various community jobs during their Community Helpers program Thursday.
Community service professionals, many whose children attend the preschool, provided hands-on activities for the children while describing their jobs.
Jamie Henning, an officer with the Warrenton Police Department, brought rescue dog Roscoe to meet the children.
Registered nurse Rhiannon Rayburn and veterinarians David Reese and Lauren Ducey of the McDuffie Animal Hospital described caring for people and animals, and Eisenhower Hospital chef Scott Adler and his wife, Jenny, showed children how to make whipped cream.
The children learned fire safety from Lt. Ed Lewis of the McDuffie Fire Department, and were then allowed to climb inside the department’s new fire truck.
