January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and the American Cancer Society issued a call for women to take action to prevent most cervical cancers.
According to Beth Firebaugh, the community manager for the American Cancer Society in Augusta, medical treatment for eligible women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer is available through the Women’s Health Medicaid Program. Through programs such as the BreasTEST & MORE, eligible women can take advantage of more than 200 Georgia locations where breast and cervical cancer screenings are available.
