The East Georgia Genealogical Society Inc. meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the L.D.S. Church, 36 Sims Road, Winder, Ga.
The society serves 30 Georgia counties: Banks, Barrow, Butts, Clarke, Columbia, Elbert, Franklin, Glascock, Greene, Gwinnett, Habersham, Hall, Hancock, Hart, Jackson, Jasper, Lincoln, Madison, McDuffie, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Putnam, Rockdale, Stephens, Talliaferro, Walton, Warren and Wilkes with research. We are looking for a volunteer chairperson from each of these counties to serve as a contact to assist in research needs for the society.
The volunteer need not live in these specific counties to become a member of E.G.G.S. Annual dues are $20. Members receive support and direction in research, four quarterly publications with a focus on abstracts for the 30 counties served, family sketches and kinship in the love of genealogy research.
