DONATE WINTER CLOTHING

WHERE: Department of Juvenile Justice

WHEN: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until Jan. 13

DETAILS: As you prepare to throw out warm, barely used clothing in fair or good condition, please think of someone who might not be as fortunate. The youth of the community will participate in a service-learning project sorting and distributing the clothes on Jan. 14. Items collected may be picked up from 1-5 p.m. Jan. 14. WHEN: Friday, Jan. 13, and Saturday, Jan. 14

DETAILS: For all ladies ages 12 to 112. Tickets cost $10 each. The conference begins Friday – 7 to 9 p.m. – with a Sweet Blessings food tasting fellowship, a worship service and several guest speakers. Activities resume Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with two worship sessions and a series of breakout sessions. The topics range from biblical lessons to basic car maintenance and self-defense. DETAILS: New Year’s – Closed Jan. 2. Monday garbage collection will be made on Tuesday. Residents are reminded not to place garbage or recycle containers at curbside on the closed days. If an emergency arises during the holiday closings, call (706) 595-2145 or (706) 595-6133 to arrange repairs of utility (water, sewer, natural gas) services. The police and fire departments will be on the job as usual.
