Dearing celebrated Christmas on a crisp Friday evening with a tree-lighting in the new town park, which was the grounds of the old Dearing Elementary School. The Dearing Volunteer Fire Department chauffeured the guest of honor, Santa, from the North Pole. Youngsters from Dearing Elementary School entertained the crowd with Christmas carols. Then all eyes turned to the guest of honor and children took turns sharing their holiday wish lists. Refreshments eased the evening chill.
