FESTIVAL OF TREES
The Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce celebrates Christmas the weekend of Dec. 1-4.
6:15 p.m.: Annual tree lighting at The Depot. Elementary school children will sing Christmas songs. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive. Thomson Fire Department will sell hamburgers and hot dogs.
6-9 p.m.: Movie Night at The Depot features How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Games, crafts and snacks will be available. Tickets are $8 for ages 5 to 12. The Grinch will attend the movie. Don’t forget to sign your name on the back of your ticket. Tickets will be sold at the chamber of commerce.
6 p.m.: Annual tree lighting at the former Dearing Elementary School gym. Elementary school children will sing Christmas songs. Refreshments will be available.
8:30 a.m.: Depot Dash, a 5k run-walk. At sign-in, T-shirts will be handed out with the $20 entry fee.
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Festival Off Main – Arts and crafts will be available all day. Entertainment will include the Sassy Brass Band. Food vendors will be on hand. Free inflatables will be available for children.
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Kids Corner, games and crafts
5 p.m.: Tour of Homes. Refreshments will be served at the chamber of commerce. Buses leave the chamber of commerce at 5:30 p.m. The last tour will leave at 6:15 p.m. Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 the day of the event. Bonus: Stirrup Cup and Tally Ho Wagon Ride at Foxboro Farm, 4575 Wrightsboro Road, from 2-4 p.m.
3 p.m.: Festival of Trees Parade. $10 per car/motorcycle/truck, and $25 per float.
